Description: This project is to address some failures of a levee running from Hamilton St. in Larose about 5,500 feet towards the Ludevine Pump Station along the Blackwater Canal. This stretch of levee has long been a concern of ours because it is too short and has no berm on either side. It has a canal open to the GIWW on the toe of the outside and a ditch/canal and/or crawfish pond on theinside at the toe. What we observed was clearly an Emergency requiring immediate attention. The goal being to frame up the project so that initial repairs can be made prior to this year’s storm season.
