Project Name: Lockport to Larose Valentine Return Levee

Budget Value: $1,262,155.00

Project Area: Lockport-to-Larose

Description: The Lockport to Larose Valentine Return Levee Project is creating a return levee from Bayou L’Bleu to Hwy. 1 which will intersect at the 5 foot contour line along Bayou Lafourche.  This return levee will eventually intersect with the Lockport to Larose Hurricane Protection Levee providing additional controls within the system.

 

Project Name: Zeller/Larousse Forced Drainage – Phase 1A Clearing and Dredging

Budget Value: $1,164,875.65

Project Area: Lake Bouef Watershed

Description: This project will clear the existing ring levee system along with re-capping and re-shaping degraded areas of the ring levee in preparation for additional projects that will re-cap and re-shape the entire ring levee system,  address road embankments issues on Hwy 307 near the Bayou  Bouef Bridge, address road embankment issues on Bayou Road, add additional pump cross connections and capacity across the Kraemer Road, internal channel improvements and make improvements to the existing pump stations.

 

Project Name: Matthews Canal / Clotilda Levee Upgrades

Budget Value: $1,039,359.00

Project Area: Gheens

Description: The Mathews Canal/Clotilda Levee Upgrades Project will stabilize the flood protection by widening the levee base, along with increasing the elevation of the entire ring levee system along the Clotilda Levee on the Mathews Canal.  This project will use adjacent borrow, thus increasing the amount of storage capacity within the internal drainage canal system.  The project will also include clearing areas along the internal channel.

 

Project Name: Lockport to Larose Valentine Return Structure

Budget Value: $1,457,945.00

Project Area: Lockport-to-Larose

Description: The Lockport to Larose Valentine Return Structure Project will include the construction of a structure in the borrow canal at the intersection of the Valentine Return Levee and the C4 Hurricane Protection Levee.  This structure consists of structural headwalls with large gated culverts to regulate and control the water flow through the borrow canal.

 

Project Name: St. Charles By-Pass Backwater Flooding

Budget Value: $595,708.00

Project Area: Thibodaux-Lockport-Bayou Blue

Description: The St. Charles By-Pass Backwater Flood Protection Project will address backwater flooding along the St. Charles By-Pass Road by constructing new drainage ditches and culverts, allowing water to be diverted around the residential area.

 

Project Name: Lockport to Larose Reach D3

Budget Value: $362,000

Project Area: Lockport-to-Larose

Description: This project includes the elevation and re-sectioning of the levee along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway starting at the Larose Pump Station at the intersection of recently completed Reach D2 Hurricane Protection Levee.  This project re-sections and elevates the existing levee to a +7.5’ elevation.

 

Project Name: Lockport to Larose Reach A2 Levee & Claudet Levee Lift Project

Budget Value: $1,540,926

Project Area: Lockport-to-Larose

Description: This project will provide improvements for Lockport to Larose – A2 Levee and Claudet Return Levee for the purpose of increasing the level of flood protection through the reshaping of levees and the installation of borrowed embankment.

 

Project Name: Lockport to Larose West Side Reach C4&C5 Levee

Budget Value: $3,204,792.00

Project Area: Lockport-to-Larose

Description: The Lockport to Larose Hurricane Protection project will stabilize flood protection by re-sectioning a levee along the 40 Arpent line allowing an increase in the overall height of protection to a +7.5’ elevation.  This project will also widen the internal drainage canal, increasing the overall drainage storage capacity for the area.

 

Project Name: Lockport to Larose West Side, Reach D1 Levee

Budget Value: $2,958,270.00

Project Area: Lockport-to-Larose

Description: This hurricane protection project will stabilize flood protection by re-sectioning a levee along the 40 Arpent line from the Edgar Guidry Pump Station to the Arceneaux Pump Station allowing an increase in the overall height of protection to a +7.5’ elevation.  This project will also widen the internal drainage canal increasing the overall drainage storage capacity for the area.

 

Project Name: Lockport to Larose West Side, Reach A1 Levee

Budget Value: $1,812,450.00

Project Area: Lockport-to-Larose

Description: Construct improvements for Lockport to Larose – A1 Levee for the purpose of increasing the level of flood protection.  This project will require a sheet pile wall, reshaping of existing levees and installation of borrowed embankments.

 

Project Name: Lockport to Larose West Side, Reach D2 Rip Rap Armoring

Budget Value: $35,000

Project Area: Lockport-Larose

Description: This is a maintenance project to further protect the levee from erosion.

 

Project Name: Bayou Rond Pom Pon

Budget Value: $81,664.90

Project Area: Lake Boeuf Watershed

Description: The system has approximately 25,055 feet of ring levees providing backwater flooding protection. Forced drainage of the area is accomplished with two pump stations. Improvements include re-capping and reshaping the entire ring levee, addressing road embankments on Hwy 307 near RPP Bridge, addressing road embankment on Sanchez Rd., adding additional pump cross connection capacity across the Kraemer Road and replacing the existing RPP Pump station
