About the NLLD
The North Lafourche Conservation, Levee, and Drainage District (known as NLLD) was formed in 1992 to provide drainage and flood protection services for the northern portion of Lafourche Parish, including the entire parish north of the Intracoastal Canal.

The District includes over 250 miles of levees and drainage canals, and over 40 pump stations.

The NLLD office is located at 627 Jackson Street,
Thibodaux, LA  70301.Phone:  985-537-2244

NLLD Completes St. Louis Canal Improvements
The NLLD has completed a project to provide maintenance dredging and land clearing along St. Louis Canal beginning at the Hausley Street culvert (at the end of Cardinal Dr.) and ending at Percy Brown Road in Thibodaux.  The clearing and maintenance dredging is a first step to improve drainage in the broader area within the City of Thibodaux.
The NLLD contracted Sealevel Construction, Inc. to remove vegetation and debris from the canal and its banks and to perform the maintenance dredging. T. Baker Smith was the engineering firm for the project.
The St. Louis Canal Project and the Acadia Woods Drainage Project below have proven to be very beneficial to drainage during recent heavy rain events.
Acadia Woods Drainage Project Nearing Completion

NLLD is wrapping up the clearing and re-excavation of a major drainage ditch centered between Hale Drive and Plater Drive in the Acadia Woods subdivision in Thibodaux.  The project also included installing new culverts under the Devil Swamp road to improve the ditch’s outfall.
The NLLD contracted with Beverly Construction for the project work, and T. Baker Smith for project engineering.
Bayou Onion Dredging Continues

The NLLD Bayou Onion maintenance dredging project in the Choupic area continues. This project will allow the canal to better handle a greater flow of water, and it is vital for reducing the risk of flooding in this entire North Lafourche area, including the City of Thibodaux.
NLLD Office Moves to Raceland in December

In early December, the NLLD will be moving into a new office in Raceland. The move puts the NLLD in a central location to service the District and provides additional space for equipment storage and meeting facilities.
A public announcement will be made once the move is complete.
The new NLLD physical address will be:
3862 Highway 1
Raceland, LA  70394
The NLLD mailing address will remain the same:
P.O. Box 309
Thibodaux, LA  70302
