Property Tax Renewal and Reduction on October 14 Ballot

The North Lafourche Conservation, Levee and Drainage District (“NLLD”) builds and maintains levees, pumps and drainage systems that help protect our homes and businesses from flooding.  On the October 14, ballot, there is a 6-mill ad valorem tax RENEWAL dedicated to the NLLD for continued construction and maintenance of levee and drainage projects, a REDUCTION from the current rate of 7 mills.

The REDUCED 6-mill tax rate would begin in 2019 and expire in 30 years, generating an estimated $2.1 million each year to build long-term flood protection projects in North Lafourche.
